About The Centre

Our Commitment:

  • To provide therapeutic counselling to victims of all forms of abuse and trauma.
  • To improve public knowledge in our community regarding all aspects of abuse and trauma by creating a resource library and information for survivors of trauma and abuse.

Our Mission:

The Centre for Abuse and Trauma Therapy Inc. is committed to provide support, empowerment and advocacy to survivors of abuse and trauma through professionally facilitated individual therapy and group counselling. The Centre is a non-profit, charitable counselling agency that provides advocacy for survivors of trauma and abuse, specialized in short and long term therapy for individuals who have been abused, traumatized, or stressed by life’s experiences. Our services are inclusive to men, women and youth. We will provide equal treatment for all individuals accessing our services, while being sensitive to the issues of gender, race, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status and/or abilities. We offer specialized services and resources for child pornography and prostitution survivors.

Our Accessibility:

The Centre for Abuse and Trauma Therapy Inc. continues to focus on offering therapy accessible to clients from all income levels. Through fundraising and donations our Centre is proud to offer subsidized spots for clients who otherwise would be unable to receive therapy. We are proud to announce that at this time 50% of our client base is receiving subsidies in order to obtain therapy for abuse and trauma. The Centre will continue to raise funds and request government funding with the goal of being able to provide treatment to all clients as needed.

Our Location:

In June of 2008 we proudly opened our new office: 234 Concession Street, Suite 200 in Kingston. We continue to expand and become more accessible to people in our community.
